Green Cay

Location of Green Cay:

Green Cay is part of the Natural Reserve of St Martin, which protects its pristine shores and rich ecosystem. As you step onto the beach, you’ll likely notice many conch shells scattered along the sand—a quiet testament to the cay’s wild and untouched nature.

What makes Green Cay so special is its complete seclusion. Unlike popular spots, you won’t find many boats here. The cay faces Orient Bay, so on breezy days you can watch numerous kite surfers riding across the water—this side of St Martin is known for consistently good wind. Yet despite that distant activity, Green Cay itself remains peaceful and uncrowded. It’s an ideal escape if you truly want to be alone.

That said, visiting Green Cay requires the right weather conditions. It is not always protected from wind and swell, so we can only go when the weather is very nice—calm seas and light winds are essential. The cay also demands a bit more cruising time to reach compared to more sheltered anchorages, but for those seeking solitude and raw beauty, the journey is well worth it.
